The Parish of Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi

The Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi is to be found on the border of Earley and Reading and is one of the Roman Catholic parishes of the Diocese of Portsmouth.

The Roman Catholic parish of Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi is a very welcoming and enthusiastic parish. The members are from the local areas of Earley, Lower Earley, Reading, Woodley, Winnersh and Wokingham and with the nearby Universities of Reading and Thames Valley, students from all over the country and the world attend our masses.

The Diocese of Portsmouth has recently created larger Pastoral Areas and Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi is now part of such a Pastoral area which includes the parishes of Christ the King (Whitley Wood, Reading), St John Bosco (Woodley, Wokingham) and St Thomas More (Twyford, Wokingham, including Our Lady of Peace, Wargrave). This larger pastoral area is known as Loddon Valley Pastoral Area. Parishioners of Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi are to be found on many local Ecumenical and social groups and the parish actively encourages parishioners to represent Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi on many other bodies including Diocesan groups.

Our Lady of Peace and Blessed Dominic Barberi are justifiably very proud of our younger members and many events are organised by and for them throughout the year one of the highlights of previous years was the parish Pantomime which our younger members produced, as well as their participation in our First Holy Communion, Confirmation programs and the Scouting movement and generally through the various ministries at mass.
