The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social & spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The 99th Reading Scout Group has been going from strength to strength since 1987. The group is church sponsored, in that the initial guidance was under the auspices of the church and the majority of the group are parishioners at the church.

To help reflect the life of the parish more, we made the decision to become a mixed sex group and each section will now accept both boys and girls. We have a waiting list in action for some of the sections, but priority is given to those from the parish.

All the sections have a leadership team drawn from the parish and we try to foster links with the parish where appropriate. In our program, we try to fit in as much activity as possible, with the accent being on fun and adventure.

If you have a child who is interested in finding out more about scouting and they fall into one of the age ranges above. Then please talk to us, ask for anyone involved or the contacts above.
