October month of Rosary

I would like to encourage all of us, all parishioners, to pray the rosary every day in the month of October. If you cannot commit to pray five decades per day then please pray at least one decade a day. I am honestly asking, please pray the rosary, and you will see how your life is changed. We live in a changing world. Our prayers are desperately needed. When we pray the rosary, we intercede for one another and we obtain graces and peace in the world as we are united with Our Lady of Peace, the Mother of God, Our Mother, and the most powerful tool in the hands of Christ to save the Church and the world.

In the rosary we contemplate the face of Jesus together with Our Lady. It really matters, as when we spend time to look upon the face of Christ, we are closer to God, our desires to belong to heaven are strengthened, and also we see our life in the light of God. One of the fruits of praying the rosary is that we link our daily events with the Lord: our joys and sufferings are enlightened by faith. In this way we allow the Passion of the Lord and the divine splendour of the Risen Lord to come upon us, permeate us, and rest in us. In this way we become open to participate in the life of Holy Trinity, embrace grace ever fresh, anew as the love of the Father which will delight us and conceive the joy of the Holy Spirit in our souls.

When we pray the rosary with the attention to reflect on the particular mystery such as the Annunciation, the Visitation, etc “we are being changed into his likeness, from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2Cor 3:18).
On the contrary, “without contemplation, the Rosary is a body without a soul, and its recitation runs the risk of becoming a mechanical repetition of formulas, in violation of the admonition of Christ” – says Bl Pope Paul VI, who also stresses that “by its nature the recitation of the Rosary calls for a quiet rhythm and a lingering pace, helping the individual to meditate on the mysteries of the Lord’s life as seen through the eyes of her who was closest to the Lord. In this way the unfathomable riches of these mysteries are disclosed”. Fr. Stan
